Manipulated Images

A better question would be what images aren't manipulated.  Images in them selves are manipulations, intended to provoke an intended emotion/thought.  i'd say that photos of nature aren't manipulated but they still force us to look through one window.
Some are obvious fakes, like this
but you must constantly be aware that YOU are being manipulated.  ask yourselves questions about what you see, and why that is all that you see.
